532 nm Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser
The 532 nm wavelength laser which generates green light is the short wavelength does not penetrate deeply into the skin and therefore used for the treatment of superficial skin lesions such as:
-
- 1Lentigines
Flat, brown patches on the skin present at sites of frequent sun exposure which could found on face and backs of hands.
-
- 2Seborrheic Keratosis
Slightly elevated pigmented spots which often found on the back and hands.
-
- 3Freckles
A brownish spot on the skin and commonly on people with fair skin.
-
- 4Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra
Small, black marks and commonly seen on people of Asian or African descent.
-
- 5Telangiectasia
Facial spider veins caused by a dilation of capillary vessels or arterioles.
-
- 6Cherry Angiomas
Slightly raised red lesions and is common on the body.
-
- 7Spider Naevi
Slightly raised, red spider-like lesions.
The short wavelength is extremely well absorbed by both oxyhaemoglobin (in bright red blood cells carrying oxygen) and melanin (black or brown color pigment found in the skin). Absorption of the light heats up the targeted red bloods or melanin which causing destruction of the blood vessels and pigmented lesions while leaving healthy cells intact.
